This tunnel is also known as Banihal Railway Tunnel. It has a length of 11.215 kilometres. It is considered as Asia’s second lengthiest railway tunnel. It is constructed on Pir Panjal Range of the Himalayas in Jammu and Kashmir.  It is to the north of Banihal Town.  You know it takes nine and a half minutes for the train to cross this tunnel.

  • Karbude Tunnel, Maharashtra

A part of the Konkan railway route, this Karbude Tunnel is 2nd longest railway tunnel in India.  It is positioned along Konkan Coast near Ratnagiri. The tunnel spreads up to 6.5 kilometres. It falls between Ukshi and Bhoke railway stations. The surrounding area of this tunnel has experienced great urbanisation because of the connectivity Catered by this tunnel.

  • Tike Tunnel, Maharashtra

This tunnel is a 4.07-kilometre long tunnel built between Ratnagiri and Nivasar. It is constructed on the Sahyadri range. The landscapes before the train enters the tunnel are breath-taking. It was completed in the year 1998.  Ratnagiri is a beautiful port city of Maharashtra, and it is a part of gorgeous Konkan along with Sahyadri Mountains. Ratnagiri region is well known for its diverse varieties of Mangoes and lavish green scenery.

  • Berdewadi Tunnel, Maharashtra

Berdewadi Tunnel is situated between Adavali and Vilawade.  It runs up to 4 kilometres. This tunnel is a part of Konkan railway route, and it is encountered while travelling to Goa and the regions of Konkan. Berdewadi Tunnel is a railway tunnel that was completed in the year 1998. This project is situated in Maharashtra, India.

  • Natuwadi Tunnel: Maharashtra

Natuwadi Tunnel is a 4.3 kilometres long underpass that is situated between Karanjadi and Diwan Station. This is the second longest tunnel on Konkan railway route. It was effectively developed in the year 1997, on stony terrain. It was constructed by making use of special imported tunnel-digging equipment.
