Conservatories are often seen as a stuffy room to put your shoes, or to keep your washing drying throughout the day – but if you think about it, there is a whole new space that you could be using in your home. Whether you want to entertain guests, or have your conservatory as a peaceful tranquility room you can retire to and hide from the stresses of everyday life. Revamping your conservatory can be done with a few simple steps…

Interior is everything:

I don’t know if you’ve heard, but traditional conservatory furniture it out. The dated wooden furniture, with patterned cushions can be described as many things, but a tranquil interior is not one of them. Instead of opting for tradition, why not try throwing some fun and modern armchairs, or even a corner sofa into the room, so that you can have an extra space to unwind or to entertain guests.

Frame the room:

If you want your conservatory to have that modern, cool feel to it, then it’s important to frame it properly. Framing a room can make it seem much more complete, and as a conservatory is typically made out of glass, selecting the right conservatory blinds is the way to go. Some new style wooden shutters, in a neutral colour can really help to make your room feel fresh, airy and modern. Steering away from heavy curtains or dark colours will help to make your room feel more open and inviting.

Personal touches:

Now that you have kitted your conservatory out and have framed the room accordingly, it’s now time to add those personal touches that turn a nice room into your nice room. Now, think about what style you like, think about what trinkets and pictures will go well into the room and really go crazy with the personal touches. Remember, you can always over-accessorize, so it’s important to make sure that you keep the trinkets to the light side. A good idea would be to have nice framed pictures of your friends or family (or anything you like) in your room, with a few candles arranged on your table and maybe even some large shells or other pretty objects added into the mix as well.
