Fall is a beautiful time of year when the leaves are changing, the air is crisp, and there are several exciting holidays to be had. It is also the perfect time to decorate your home for the occasion. Even if you do not enjoy fall decor in your home, you may change your mind after reading this article. You will come to find that no matter your style and taste, there is something for everyone to love.

#1. Metallic Pumpkins

A beautiful way to incorporate fall into your home is by purchasing metallic pumpkins. Some of my favorites are the gold and silver ones because they are neutral and can go with anything. If you’re not a fan of having bright orange pumpkins and leaves around your home, this is a perfect, classy solution. The best part is that you can continue to use them throughout the whole season and even into the month of December. A great place to look for metallic pumpkins is Amazon.

If you are having a hard time finding ones that you like, another option is to buy real pumpkins and spray paint them. It is a super simple process and should be fairly inexpensive to make yourself. You can buy pumpkins at your local grocery store for around $3.00 and spray paint for around $5.00 at any craft store. Place your pumpkins on a sheet of wax paper, spray them thoroughly with the paint of your choice, and wait until they dry to see the amazing result!

#2. Fall Wreath

A pretty wreath is an easy way to include fall decor in your home without going overboard. A berry one like this is perfect for fall and can also work for the winter months. If you like more of the leafy look, there are some great options on Amazon as well. You can either hang this on your front door to give your porch some fall decor flare or place it anywhere in the house, such as on a mantel or wall.

#3. Wheat Sheaves

Another fun way to add a fall feeling in your home is to decorate with wheat sheaves. You can bundle the wheat together and tie it with burlap or a ribbon and place it throughout your house. I like the look of wheat in jars or antique pitchers, such as the one below.

#4. Fall Towels

A simple way to add a touch of fall decor to your home is to place fall hand towels in the kitchen. There are several different options that you can choose from and ones that will fit your style. If you are like me, you may enjoy more neutral hand towels such as this one, or you can go for a more vibrant look like this. Either way, you can’t go wrong. Another fun idea is to change your hand towels for Halloween and Thanksgiving to really get your home looking festive for the holidays.

#5. Fall Doormat

To add fall decor outside and boost your curb appeal, place a fall mat by your front door. I have seen so many cute ones that are very affordable and fun. You can keep this doormat up all through the season and change it out when December rolls around. All you have to do is keep an eye out when shopping and do your research to find what one you like the best.

#6. Painted Pumpkins

Similar to the metallic pumpkins, you can choose to paint your own pumpkins for fall decor. Just a few days ago, my roommate and I decided that we would do this and get our craftiness on. We found adorable pumpkins at the grocery store (about $1.00 a piece) and picked out acrylic paint that we both liked. We opted to go for a pastel-colored look and decided on light blue and orange for our main colors. Of course, you can choose to paint your pumpkins whatever color you’d like. If you’re looking for a fun activity to do with your kids, this is an easy craft that they’ll love.

#7 Wood Logs

Finally, you can incorporate fall decor by adding wood logs or bundles of sticks to common areas in your home. A pretty idea is to get a large basket and fill it with large birch logs. These can be ones that you buy from a store or also ones that you choose to cut yourself.  Not only is it easy to do, but it gives your home a rustic, fall vibe. If you have a fireplace in your home, you can actually use the wood as well, making it both functional and beautiful.

#8 Conclusion

I hope that this article has inspired you to want to add fall decor to your home. As you can see, there are simple ways you can add a fall touch without being too over the top. The great thing is that you can make it your own and there is no right or wrong way. Do what you love and enjoy the process. Happy decorating!
